📖 Conditional Formatting
- Conditional formatting in Excel is like applying automatic highlights to your data based on rules you set.
- Imagine you have a list of test scores for your class. You can tell Excel, “If a score is less than 50, colour the cell red,” or, “If a score is greater than 90, colour the cell green.” Excel then instantly looks at every score and changes the cell’s appearance (like its background colour or text colour) if it meets the condition.
- This makes it super easy to quickly spot important information, like which students need extra help (the red scores) or who’s doing great (the green scores)! It helps you visualise your data instantly without having to check every single number yourself.

📝 Level 1 – Conditional Formatting
Using the information above and what your teacher has shown you it’s time to use conditional formatting on a real Excel file.
Download the Level 1 spreadsheet below and complete the sheets called Weather data and Magic square. The instructions can be found inside the spreadsheet.
