  • Open up a new Excel spreadsheet and follow the instructions they have written down to create their flag.

  • Download the Lesson 2 Activity Spreadsheet below, all your level tasks for today will be done inside this spreadsheet.
  • First of all, complete the Starter – Fill in the blanks sheet section to create the two times table.
  • Your teacher will now show you some super spreadsheet tips and tricks to make your life much easier when working with numbers in Excel.
  • You then need to complete all the level tasks shown in the sheet tabs at the bottom of Excel.
  • There are some tips below if you missed them when your teacher told you about them.

How to make a formula

  • Click in the cell you wish to make the formula.
  • In the cell, type: =C20*E20
  • Press Enter

Using a formula

  • A formula always starts with the = symbol
  • Symbol for multiplication:   *
  • Symbol for division:  /
